When executed properly, our local campaigns to inform the public about the benefits of doing business locally can build a lasting culture of support for small business and help local entrepreneurs to thrive.
There was never a more opportune time to take advantage of that and continue to build on that mindset. We do a great job of promoting the “shop local” theme during the holidays etc., but it is a theme that needs to be front and center 365 days a year! We need the #shopmoosomin culture to be our community’s first consideration when choosing where to spend their hard-earned dollars… and not to pick up their phone and order it from Amazon. We want to take every opportunity to praise and reinforce people’s efforts to “go local” and recognize that you may not be able to do all your business locally, but you can surely try!
You will be highlighted in the World Spectator as the feature business of the week. Our #shopmoosomin social media page will also promote and highlight the feature business of the week. We encourage the business owner to maybe showcase a product that a customer may not realize you can provide.
For example, I was not aware that I could source printer paper locally at The World Spectator or that I could purchase acrylic paints and brushes at our local Pharmasave. Or maybe you would like to make your posts more personable by showing the faces and stories of your business or employees, did your restaurant donate meals to a worthy cause or maybe you’d like to share how much you have donated to a local charity or minor sports programs this year. It’s up to you what you showcase that week!
